Zelensky and Macron discuss latest developments, coordinate next steps

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss current events and coordinate further actions to resolve the situation.

The Office of the President reported this, Ukrinform reports.

Zelensky informed the French President about the results of the productive meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations in Saudi Arabia and recalled that Ukraine supported the US proposal for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire. At the same time, he noted, Russia is now trying to put forward its own conditions, seeking to make the ceasefire process unstable.

In turn, Macron spoke about the meeting of the Chiefs of the General Staff, which took place on March 11 in Paris, where they discussed strengthening Ukraine at the present time and in the future.

Separately, the presidents of the two countries discussed the preparation of security guarantees for Ukraine. “The teams continue their work, and a full vision will soon be clearly formulated,” the statement said.

Further steps and contacts also became important topics of discussion.

The head of state thanked Macron for his support and efforts in ensuring a fair and sustainable peace for Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, a meeting of Ukrainian and US delegations took place in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Following the meeting, the parties published a joint statement.

The document emphasizes that Ukraine has expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal to immediately introduce a temporary 30-day ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, provided that the ceasefire agreement is supplemented and simultaneously implemented by the Russian Federation.

Following negotiations with the United States, Washington announced the resumption of military aid to Ukraine and the exchange of intelligence.
