Zambia joins Peace Summit communiqué – Zelensky

Zambia has joined the communiqué of the first Peace Summit held in Switzerland on June 15-16.

President Vodymyr Zelensky announced this on the social media platform X, Ukrinform reports.

“I am grateful to Zambia for joining the Peace Summit’s Communiqué and supporting efforts to achieve a sustainable, comprehensive, and just peace. We appreciate the growing support for the Peace Summit and its final Communiqué from all continents, including Africa. We value that Zambia, together with other African countries, takes a clear stance in favor of the UN Charter, peace, and progress,” the post reads.

According to Zelensky, the Peace Formula is an inclusive format in which every country contribute to achieving common goals.

“We urge all peace-loving nations to join the Communiqué and the Peace Formula implementation. Together, we can restore peace, stable develment, and mutual respect in international affairs,” Zelensky wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, the Peace Summit was held on June 15-16 in the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock. The summit participants discussed nuclear security, food security and the humanitarian dimension – the exchange of prisoners and the return of kidnapped Ukrainian children.

The communiqué remains en for accession.

The results of the Peace Summit will be handed over to Russian representatives.

On June 19, Antigua and Barbuda and the Organization of American States joined the communiqué.
