Yermak named main task at meeting with Kuleba and Szijjártó in Uzhhorod

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and Head of the Presidential Office Andr Yermak will discuss with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó the possibility of organizing a meeting between the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Hungary on January 29 in Uzhhorod.

Yermak said this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"We are definitely moving towards a meeting between Zelensky and Orban. This will be the main task during my meeting with Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba with Szijjártó on January 29 in Uzhhorod," the head of the Presidential Office said.

According to him, the parties agreed to spend "as many hours as necessary to discuss all the issues and come to an understanding of when, where and with what potential agreements a meeting between the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Hungary could take place."

Yermak noted that during the meeting it is planned to "go through the entire spectrum of issues" arising in relations between the two countries.

"We have a lot of them. Hungary is our neighbor. Hungary is a member of the Eurean Union and NATO. Therefore, we have to talk and establish a constructive dialog," he stressed.

As reported by Ukrinform, on January 16, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban reiterated his unwillingness to approve a four-year macro-financial support program for Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros, claiming that such assistance "could harm the EU budget."

At a meeting of the Eurean Council on December 15, Orban vetoed the allocation of 50 billion euros from the EU budget to help Ukraine.
