Yermak assures that US support for Ukraine has not changed

The head of the Presidential Office, Andr Yermak, assures that the US support for Ukraine has not changed, although the pre-election situation has its impact.

He said this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"Today we have full support from both parties of Congress. I emphasize that I met twice in Washington with the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Then we held these meetings together with President Zelensky. We came back with positive feelings. We do not feel that the United States' support for Ukraine has changed in any way. But, of course, they [the United States] have already entered the period of presidential elections. They have their own internal phenomena, but their attitude towards us has not changed. And it seems to me that the level of support from them is still very high," Yermak said.

Answering a question about the impact of Donald Trump's point of view on the Republicans' position, Yermak said that "it is very important to separate pre-election rhetoric and concrete steps." "But we know exactly what the American position is, and any government, any pitical leader is always guided by the inion of their pele. The level of support from the American pele is very high," he said.

As reported by Ukrinform, on January 5, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller confirmed that the US strategy to support Ukraine remains unchanged – it will continue as long as necessary to ensure that the country can stand firmly on its feet.

Last week, former U.S. President Donald Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine "very quickly" if he wins this year's presidential election.

Flowing these words, Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky invited Trump to visit Kyiv.
