
In 2025, women headed more than 12.7 thousand newly created companies in Ukraine — about 34%. The largest share of companies opened under the leadership of women in Mykolaiv region — more than 42%.
This was reported by the data collection company Opendatabot.
Also among the leaders in terms of the share of female directors in newly created companies are Chernihiv (38%), Zaporizhia and Kirovohrad (37%), and Zakarpattia (36%) regions.
On the other hand, the lowest share of female directors is in Lviv (30%), Ivano-Frankivsk (30%), Khmelnytskyi (32%), Zhytomyr and Rivne regions (33% each).
The largest number of companies headed by women is in Kyiv — over 12 thousand. The wholesale trade sector leads in terms of the number of women directors of newly created companies: over 5 thousand businesses or 15% of the total. Next are public organizations, real estate, IT, and construction.
Overall, women directors predominate in such areas as tourism, creativity, social assistance, law and accounting, employment, wholesale and retail trade. The fewest women managers are in security companies, financial services and insurance, metallurgy, telecommunications, and construction of engineering structures.
But in areas such as IT, computer manufacturing, and machinery manufacturing, the number of female directors is increasing, the company noted.
