We need peace, not endless war – Zelensky

The Ukrainian president said the country needed peace, not endless conflict, and that security guarantees were the basis for achieving that peace.

President Zelensky announced this in his video address to the people on Monday evening, as reported by Ukrinform.

“These days have shown clear support from the Era. We see even greater unity and a greater willingness to cooperate. Everyone agrees on the main thing – for peace to become real, real security guarantees are needed. And this is the position of our entire continent – the United Kingdom, the European Union, Norway, Turkey,” the head of state noted.

According to Zelensky, many meetings and joint actions are planned in the coming days and weeks.

“There will be diplomacy for the sake of peace. And so that we all stand together – Ukraine, the country of Er and, of course, America. We recognize the importance of America and are grateful for all the support we have received from the United States. There has not been a single day when we have not felt gratitude,” the president emphasized.

He expressed gratitude to all partners, thanks to whom stability is maintained in Ukraine.

“We need peace, not endless war. That is why we claim that security guarantees are the key to this. In the near future, we will all define our common positions in the Era – the lines that we must achieve and the lines on which we cannot compromise. These positions will be presented to our partners in the United States,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.
