We are constantly pressuring countries to continue funding PURL — NATO admiral

The PURL program is working perfectly, and weapons paid for by partners have already been delivered or will be delivered to Ukraine in the near future. However, NATO countries need to do more to support Ukraine.

This was stated by the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, in an interview with Sospilny.

“We should strive to do more, and more, and more. What we do is never enough, so if there is room for improvement, we have to do it. And it's not just PURL – this program works perfectly, there are other areas of activity,” he said.

According to the admiral, the partners' commitments to the program are one hundred percent.

“I have evidence that PURL is working perfectly: everything that was paid for has already been delivered or will be delivered to Ukraine in the near future. This is a critically important system. Thanks to NATO validation and American support, I am confident that these efforts will not diminish,” Dragone said.

He noted that many countries participate in the program and NATO leadership constantly pushes them to increase assistance.

“At every meeting, the Secretary General from the political side of NATO and I from the military side constantly put pressure on countries to continue funding PURL or start it if they haven't already. But I am optimistic,” the admiral said.
