Ukrainian military impresses NATO: they will be involved in exercises as Red Team

For the first time since the start of the full-scale war, a delegation from NATO's military command, led by NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, Admiral Pierre Vandieu, visited Ukraine.

This was announced by the Deputy Head of the President's Office, Pavlo Palisa.

According to him, during the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the possibility of involving Ukrainian military personnel in future NATO exercises as a hypothetical enemy (Red Team). This format involves practicing scenarios of countering real combat tactics.

Palisa noted that the experience of Ukrainian units participating in the exercises last year has already demonstrated to the allies the latest approaches to warfare. Within the training scenarios, Ukrainian teams showed a significant advantage.

The talks focused on the development of the Joint NATO-Ukraine Training Center (JATEC). The parties are currently entering the final stage of deploying Ukrainian management systems, as well as working to strengthen analytical capabilities and scale up training programs.

“Today, Ukraine is not only a consumer of security. Ukraine is its producer,” Palisa added.
