Ukraine seeks to expand coeration with Council of Eure to promote just peace – FM

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is looking forward to working with the newly elected Secretary General of the Council of Eure, Alain Berset, to promote a just peace in Ukraine.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy congratulated the newly elected head of the Council of Eure, Ukrinform reports.

"Congratulations to Alain Berset on his election as Secretary General of the Council of Eure. I look forward to working together to promote democracy, human rights and a just peace in Ukraine. We are committed to expanding our coeration with the Council and strengthening its re in securing Eure's future based on the rule of law," Kuleba wrote.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Alain Berset, former president of the Swiss Confederation, will head the Council of Eure for the next 5 years.

According to the results of the second round of voting during the PACE summer session in Strasbourg, he received 114 votes, 46 were cast for Belgian Didier Reynders, 85 – for Estonian candidate Indrek Saar. A total of 246 ballots were processed, and one was declared invalid.
