Ukraine is an important partner in protecting the UK from future threats – Ambassador Harris
The British Ambassador to Ukraine, Martin Harris, announced this in an interview with Ukrinform.
“We see the future of the UK and Ukraine – there are two flags here – as future partners in NATO, and we see Ukraine as an important ally of the UK in defending against future threats to Euro-Atlantic security,” the ambassador said.
The diplomat also stressed Britain's interest in the Ukrainian defence sector, particularly in high-tech military developments.
“You talked about some of the high-tech systems that we have transferred to Ukraine, but we are also seeing high-tech systems being developed in Ukraine itself. And increasingly we are seeing British defence companies working with their Ukrainian counterparts because we see a shared interest in developing these capabilities together and using them in the future to protect the security of the ERA,” the British ambassador added.

He emphasised Britain's position that NATO was the bedrock of security in the Era, adding that he believed the United States remained committed to the Euro-Atlantic alliance, dispelling any concerns that the new administration in Washington might abandon the concept of selective security.
As reported, the Belgian Ambassador to Ukraine Luc Jacobs said in an interview with Ukrinform that leading enterprises of the Belgian defense sector are actively establishing contacts with Ukrainian partners and achieving success in organizing joint production.
