Ukraine initiated a ban on entry to the EU and the introduction of sanctions for almost 130 Russian commanders — Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine has initiated a ban on entry to European Union countries and the introduction of sanctions against almost 130 Russian commanders involved in crimes against Ukrainians.

This is stated on the website of the President's Office.

According to him, Ukraine has already submitted to the EU a relevant document with the personal data of these commanders and information about about 300 of their relatives.

The dates of birth and document numbers of each of them are being discussed. Among them are Russians from long-range aviation units, the Navy, and ground-based missile forces who “systematically participated in missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and communities and in the killings of our people.”

“Since the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion, the enemy's long-range aviation has launched over 4,100 cruise missiles at Ukraine. Verified data proves the participation of 35 Russian invaders from the 44th separate special-purpose aviation regiment of the Russian Federation, the 52nd, 121st, 200th and 182nd heavy bomber regiments of the Russian Federation, the 22nd and 326th heavy bomber aviation divisions of the Russian Federation. In addition, there is information about 89 of their relatives,” the report says.

Among the crew members and commanders of surface and underwater missile carriers, as well as coastal missile complexes, 67 Russian citizens and 155 of their relatives have been identified. According to the OPU, Russian frigates carried out about 160 missile strikes on Ukraine, launching more than 1,500 sea-based cruise missiles.

There is also confirmed information about 34 Russians who have access to ground-based missile systems, and 92 members of their families.

In particular, the 1st Missile Brigade of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation alone is responsible for over 220 strikes on Ukraine. Similar crimes were also committed by the 12th, 26th, 40th, 64th, 92nd, 103rd, 107th, 112th, 119th, and 448th Russian Missile Brigades.

“We will also work to ensure that European Union sanctions are imposed on all participants in the Russian war. Each of them bears personal responsibility for the attacks on Ukraine, on our people, on critical infrastructure. There must be a fair punishment for all this,” said Vladyslav Vlasyuk, advisor and presidential commissioner for sanctions policy.

In total, since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine has imposed sanctions on more than 300 people from the top military leadership, including “heads of tactical and strategic directions, representatives of special services and illegal armed formations and occupiers involved in torture, violence, child abduction, missile launches and cyberattacks on critical infrastructure.”
