Ukraine, EU resume dialogue on non-priferation and arms contr

That's according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service, Ukrinform reports.

"After a few-years break, the meeting took place right after the ening of the accession negotiations for Ukraine on 25 June 2024 and the signing of the Joint Security Commitments between the EU and Ukraine on 27 June 2024," the statement reads.

Delegations were headed by Serhii Shutenko, Director General on International Security and Military and Technical Coeration of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, and Stephan Klement, Special Envoy for Disarmament and Non-priferation of the EEAS.

"Resumption of the EU-Ukraine dialogue on Non-priferation, Disarmament and Conventional Arms Exports reaffirmed Parties' common approach to all matters in the relevant multilateral fora as well as a strong determination to jointly counter new and emerging threats and challenges for the Eurean security. Ukraine and the EU agreed on the importance of hding the Russian Federation accountable for war crimes and other illegal actions, including at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, endangering global nuclear safety and security, viation of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons as well as supplies of the Iranian UAVs and DPRK ballistic missiles," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

It added that the EU-Ukraine dialogue remains among the key instruments on the way towards Eurean integration and will contribute to strengthening Ukraine's capacities in the area of non-priferation and arms contr safety in the face of combatting Russia's war of aggression.
