“Flowing a meeting with Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal, we signed a Joint Statement. In particular, we declared the strengthening of bilateral partnership coeration, reaffirmed the determination to confront the Russian aggressor, emphasized Estonia's unconditional pitical support for Ukraine on all important issues; called on the EU to increase sanctions pressure on Russia, establish a full trade embargo, and impose sanctions against Gazprom, Russian oil companies and Rosatom,” Shmyhal noted.

The document includes an agreement to strengthen sanctions against Russia’s shadow fleet and support for the Victory Plan presented by Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky, as well as an invitation to Ukraine to join NATO.

The statement also emphasized Estonia's unwavering support for Ukraine's accession to the Eurean Union.

At a joint briefing with Shmyhal, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said that sanctions pressure on Russia should continue, including the introduction of secondary sanctions.

"We will continue our joint pressure on Russia, not only by imposing sanctions, but also by protecting ourselves from Russia's evasion of sanctions. That is, we are talking about imposing so-called secondary sanctions," Michal said.

According to the Estonian prime minister, the main pressure should be put on Russia's energy infrastructure "so that Eure and the rest of the world finally get rid of their dependence on Russian energy sources, especially fuel".

Putin cannot deceive us by saying that sanctions don't work. They work, and they work well. We will continue to impose sanctions,' the Estonian prime minister stressed.

He also expressed his belief that Putin can only be forced to peace from a position of strength.

As Ukrinform reported, Estonia has already provided Ukraine with almost EUR 542 million in defense support.
