Ukraine, Czechia ink security deal
In Woodstock (UK), President Vodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine and Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala signed the Agreement on security coeration and long-term support between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
That’s according to the Ukrainian President’s Office, Ukrinform reports.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion, Czechia has provided Ukraine with military aid in the amount of nearly EUR 400 million and will continue to support it with the same dynamics over the next decade. The Czech Republic will also explore tions for the supply of additional military equipment, taking into account the nation’s needs.
A significant part of the agreement is about enhancing coeration in the military-technical area, primarily small- and large-caliber ammunition, small arms, light weapons, UAV, e-warfare, and heavy equipment. The Czech Republic will continue to help Ukraine within its initiative to supply 155 mm and 122 mm artillery shells with the support of partner countries. In addition, Ukraine and the Czech Republic will strengthen industrial capacities for the production of ammunition on their territories, as well as create joint defense enterprises.

The countries will continue the joint annual training of about 4,000 Ukrainian defenders – this year and beyond within the framework of the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM).
A feature of coeration in the non-military area is the partnership of the Czech Republic with the Dnipro and Dnipretrovsk region toward recovery, reconstruction, and sustainable develment. The Czech Republic also intends to deploy a diplomatic mission in Dnipro to strengthen coeration and assistance.
Humanitarian support from Czechia invves financial and material assistance for civil protection and war-affected Ukrainians, including internally displaced persons.
The Czech Republic also clearly reaffirms its support for Ukraine's future membership of the EU and NATO.
Ukraine and the Czech Republic signed a security agreement to implement the G7 Joint Declaration on Support for Ukraine, adted in Vilnius on July 12, 2023. Ukraine state has already signed 24 bilateral security agreements.
