UK must react quickly if Ukraine peace deal is reached – Starmer
As reported by Ukrinform, Reuters reports this with reference to a statement by the British Prime Minister during a visit to a nuclear submarine construction site.
Starmer's statement came as military leaders from dozens of countries met in the UK to discuss plans for a possible peacekeeping force in Ukraine.
“(Our) plans are focused on securing the skies, seas and borders in Ukraine, and on cooperating with the Ukrainians,” Starmer told reporters.
He stressed that London and its allies were working “quickly” because it was unclear whether a deal would be reached.
“I certainly believe that this will happen, but if a deal is reached, it is very important that we can respond immediately,” he said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on March 20, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer boarded one of Britain's nuclear submarines, HMS Vanguard, which had been at sea for more than 200 days.
On 15 March, Starmer announced that the UK would meet with armed forces chiefs on Thursday to develop concrete plans to support a future peace deal.
