Trump's phone call with Putin: 'very good', 'productive'

US President Donald Trump reported a productive telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during which an agreement was reached to immediately stop attacks on energy facilities and infrastructure.

Trump announced this through the Truth Social news agency, which covers the negotiation process, Ukrinform reports.

“My phone call with President Putin of Russia today was very good and productive. We agreed to an immediate cease-fire on all energy and infrastructure issues, with the understanding that we will work aggressively to achieve a complete cease-fire and ultimately an END to this terrible war between Russia and Ukraine,” Trump said.

According to the American leader, various aspects of the peace agreement were discussed, “including the fact that thousands of soldiers are dying, and both President Putin and President Zelensky want that to stop.”

Trump stressed that the process is now “fully underway” and expressed confidence that the work will be done “for the sake of humanity.”

As reported by Ukrinform, during the conversation between the two leaders on Tuesday, the Trump administration stated that the Russian side had agreed to a limited ceasefire on energy and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. An agreement was also reached to begin negotiations in one of the Middle Eastern countries.
