Trump says Zelensky and Putin 'ready to make a deal'
Trump spoke to reporters on board Air Force One, which was flying from Washington to Miami, Ukrinform reports.
Trump said he recently spoke with Zelensky.
“I think he (Zelensky – ed.) is ready for a deal. And I think President Putin is also ready for a deal, and then you will start losing thousands of young people every week,” Trump noted.
He added that the United States wants the Russia-Ukraine war to end as soon as possible and that there is “significant progress” in the current negotiations.
Asked about talks with Putin's representative Kirill Dmitriev, Trump said he was not discussing specific names.

“I'll just say there are a lot of productive conversations going on right now about Ukraine and Russia,” Trump added.
He noted that Er had not achieved success in relations with Putin, while emphasizing that Putin could have success in this area.
As reported by Ukrinform, the head of the Russian direct investment fund Kirill Dmitriev confirmed on Thursday that he held meetings with representatives of the Donald Trump administration in Washington on April 2-3. He later said that during these meetings, the restoration of direct flights between the two countries was discussed.
