United States President Donald Trump tweeted that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is dead.
The head of the White House reported this on Truth Social (not displayed in Ukraine).
“Khamenei, one of the most evil men in history, is dead. This is justice not only for the people of Iran, but for all the great Americans and people from many countries around the world who were killed or maimed by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty thugs,” Trump says.
According to the politician, Khamenei was eliminated with the help of American intelligence and high-tech surveillance systems, as well as thanks to cooperation with Israel.
He added that the Iranian people have a chance to take back their country. At the same time, the intensive and targeted bombing of Iran, which began on the morning of February 28, will continue for a week or “as long as necessary” to achieve the US goal of peace in the Middle East, the American leader concluded.
On Ali Khamenei's verified page in X, a post was published in Farsi:
“In the name of the noble Ali, peace be upon him. Without him there would be neither heaven nor earth.”
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video message that there were “many signs” that Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “is no more.”
In turn, Reuters and the Israeli newspaper Times of Israel, citing their own sources among Israeli officials, reported that Khamenei's body was found after the IDF airstrikes on Tehran.
The Iranian authorities have not yet confirmed or denied this information.
