Trump reacts to attack on Sumy: Russia “made a mistake”
He told journalists about this during a flight on board Air Force One, as reported by CNN and Ukrinform.
“I think it was terrible. And I think they made a mistake. But it's really terrible. I think war is terrible. I think it's an abuse of power to start this war. This country would never have started this war if I were president. This war is a disgrace,” Trump said.
When asked to clarify what he meant by Russia making a “mistake,” Trump replied:
“They were really wrong. I think so – ask them.”
In a nod to his usual criticism of former President Joe Biden, Trump added: “Don't forget: This is Biden's war. I'm just trying to stop it so we can save a lot of lives.”
