US President Donald Trump has extended for another year the state of emergency imposed due to Russia's actions, which restricts the movement and parking of Russian ships in American ports.
This is stated in an official White House statement published in the Federal Register on April 17.
The United States has extended the ban on Russian ships docking in its ports for another year.
This regime was first introduced by the 46th US President Joe Biden on April 21, 2022, with Proclamation 10371 — due to the threat to US international relations from Russia. At the same time, the Secretary of Homeland Security was given the authority to regulate the movement and parking of vessels associated with Russia in American ports.
The new document states that the actions of the Russian government continue to pose a threat, so the grounds for the state of emergency remain in effect. The message was sent to the US Congress.
