Trump announces possible meeting with Zelensky to sign mineral supply deal
US President Donald Trump said he may soon meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to sign an agreement on critical minerals.
Trump told reporters about this at the White House on Monday, as reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.
“I plan to meet with President Zelensky. In fact, he may come this week or next week to sign the agreement,” Trump said.
The US leader indicated that the meeting could take place in the Oval Office.
Trump also added that the agreement to develop mineral resources in Ukraine was nearing completion and that both sides were “very close to a final deal.”
He stressed that Ukraine is interested in signing the agreement, although this may require approval from other branches of government.
“But I’m confident it will happen,” Trump assured.
