Despite anti-Russian sanctions, new parts manufactured in 2025 in six countries continue to be discovered in the drones used by the Russian Federation to attack Ukraine. This shows that Moscow is managing to circumvent restrictions, and therefore it is necessary to increase sanctions pressure.
This was stated in a comment to Suspilny by the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasyuk.
According to him, recent days have shown that the Russian Federation is not reducing the intensity of attacks on Ukrainian cities – Odesa, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Kharkiv are under attack. Shahed-type strike UAVs are being used en masse, and the Russians are additionally launching V2U-type drones over Kharkiv.
“It is significant that in the drones that attacked Ukraine last week, we are again discovering new, fresh components, manufactured in 2025 in Germany, Japan, Switzerland, the USA, as well as Taiwan and the UK,” the official said, adding that a new element was also recorded for the first time – the Transit Brd activation block.
The presidential commissioner assured that all data regarding these components has already been transferred to partners.
In addition, according to Vlasyuk, the Ukrainian side continues to detect Swiss parts (STMielectronics Switzerland) in Russian weapons, noting that Kyiv regularly calls for “control over where exactly their products are sold.”
He emphasized that Moscow continues to gain access to Western technology despite restrictions, and that is why sanctions pressure must constantly increase and close such supply channels.
“At the same time, there is a result. In new drone samples, we practically do not see components from the Netherlands. This is direct proof that systematic work with partners is effective and allows us to block access to critical technologies,” said the presidential representative.
He added that Ukraine continues to increase so-called long-range sanctions, noting that they have already cost Russia at least $7 billion in losses, and this “tool will be expanded.”
The official also informed that Kyiv is working on forming a list of critical equipment for oil refineries and oil pumping stations in order to limit its export to Russia and thereby reduce the Kremlin's profits, which are used to finance the war against Ukraine.
“Our approach is simple: block access to technologies used in the war, and at the same time reduce the resources at the expense of which this war is being waged. All information has been transferred to our partners,” Vlasyuk summarized.
He previously said that after the EU approved the 20th package of sanctions against Russia, Ukraine has begun consultations on further restrictions. Kyiv suggests that partners focus on further measures against banks and the final blocking of Moscow's circumvention of restrictions through cryptocurrency.
