In one military unit, 2,000 people were found who were likely unfit for service due to health reasons. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is investigating this situation.
This was reported by Olga Reshetylova, Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Military Personnel and Members of Their Families, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
Olga Reshetylova did not say what kind of military unit this was.
Representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Land Forces Command were involved in the verification process to find out at what stage the system failure occurred, Reshetylova said.
“We need to fully examine the question of how this happened, at what stage this mass violation occurred. Is this the stage of the CCC, the VLK, is this already a military unit, or was the decision made somewhere higher?” she explained.
Reshetylova also stated that this situation “cannot simply be stated as a fact,” since it involves the mobilization of 2,000 people. The Ministry of Defense will investigate how this happened in general, the ombudswoman said.
