The king's brother, former Prince Andrew, was arrested in the UK

The brother of King Charles III, the former Prince Andrew, who was stripped of all his titles due to his ties to the criminal Jeffrey Epstein, has been arrested in the UK. Police arrested Andrew on suspicion of abuse while he was in official positions.

This is reported by the BBC.

According to the BBC, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on the morning of February 19 on suspicion of abuse of public office – over documents dating back to his time as a trade envoy, which were allegedly passed on to Epstein.

This morning, the Mail Online published photos of police officers near the Sandringham estate. Journalists were able to confirm that an arrest had taken place this morning.

It is noted that this arrest is related only to Andrew's illegal actions in public office.

Thames Valley Police said Andrew was arrested after a “thorough assessment” and an investigation has now been launched. It also said police were carrying out searches in Berkshire and Norfolk.

Andrew has previously strongly denied any wrongdoing in any of the Epstein-related matters. Andrew celebrates his 66th birthday on February 19, the day of his arrest.
