The EU Council approved a new tranche for Ukraine: almost 2.8 billion euros of support

The Council of the European Union has approved the seventh tranche of financial support for Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility. The country will receive almost €2.8 billion after implementing some of the reforms and steps envisaged in the Roadmap for Ukraine.

This is stated on the department's website.

The EU noted that Ukraine had completed 11 of the 20 steps required to receive this tranche. The fulfillment of a number of previously unfinished obligations was separately credited, including one related to the fifth tranche and two related to the sixth.

Ukraine also implemented some of the reforms foreseen for the next stages of the program ahead of schedule: two steps of the eighth tranche and two steps of the ninth. For the first time, according to the updated methodology of the European Commission, compensation is provided for such early implementation.

Financial support within the EU mechanism is linked to the “Plan for Ukraine”, which defines a strategy for the recovery, reconstruction and modernization of the state, as well as reforms on the path to accession to the European Union.

Ukraine received the previous, sixth tranche under this program in December 2025 — its volume was about 2.3 billion euros.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that the European Commission generally positively assessed Ukraine's implementation of the Plan for the fourth quarter of 2025, which became the basis for the decision on a new tranche.

According to her, as of the end of May 2026, Ukraine has already completed 86 steps of the Plan, and another 65 are in the process of implementation.
