The Cabinet of Ministers simplified the write-off of destroyed military property for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The government has simplified the write-off of destroyed military property. This includes the abolition of mandatory technical condition certificates, complex depreciation calculations, and fixing the cost of such losses regardless of the period of operation.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

They recalled that previously the procedure was complicated: it was necessary to draw up technical condition certificates and separately calculate the degree of wear and tear for each unit of destroyed or damaged property.

Now, according to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, these requirements have been simplified. Thus, for property that is destroyed or irreversibly damaged during hostilities:

  • it is not necessary to draw up a technical condition certificate;
  • depreciation is automatically considered 100% – without additional calculations;
  • The value is fixed without reduction, regardless of how long the property has been used.

The document also clarifies the procedure for indexing costs and separately regulates the depreciation coefficient for unmanned ground robotic systems (GRS), for which there were previously no clear rules.

“Simplifying the procedure will free up personnel involved in accounting and writing off property to perform assigned tasks and reduce the bureaucratic burden on units,” the Ministry of Defense added.

In August 2025, the government simplified the purchase of used pickup trucks and other vehicles for combat units of the Defense Forces.
