The government has appointed Taras Chmut, head of the “Return Alive” foundation, as a member of the supervisory board of the Defense Procurement Agency (APA) upon the proposal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
Mikhail Fedorov reported this on Telegram.
Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that the appointment of Taras Chmut “will strengthen the team with effective leaders and help implement key tasks in the field of defense procurement.”
Among the priorities of the AOZ and the Supervisory Board:
- determining the real needs of the front and purchasing only what has proven effective on the battlefield;
- quality control and timely supply of weapons and equipment;
- building a flexible procurement system capable of quickly responding to innovations;
- cost reduction through transparent competition and anti-corruption mechanisms.
“Taras Chmut is an effective leader who, as the head of the “Return Alive” Foundation, has built one of the most effective and transparent systems for supporting the Defense Forces – from working with the real needs of the front to quality control, procurement, and rapid delivery to the front. This experience is critically important for the transformation of state defense procurement,” said Mykhailo Fedorov.
The Ministry of Defense and the Defense Ministry will make defense procurement “as effective, transparent, and result-oriented as possible on the battlefield,” Fedorov emphasized.
