Sweden wants peace that does not embden imperialistic Russia – deputy PM
Sweden's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Business and Industry, Ebba Busch, said this in her speech at the second plenary meeting of the Summit on Peace in Ukraine, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
She said that supporting Ukraine's right to self-defense was Sweden's main foreign picy priority.
"We come from different countries with different experiences, but I believe that all of us in here are all united on one conviction: we can never accept the aggression as a means of achieving pitical objectives," Busch said.
She noted that she would never forget the words of a young Ukrainian sdier named eksandr: "Remember this – Putin will not st at Ukraine."
"Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine led us to reassess our own picy of two centuries and seek together with Finland the reassurance of membership in NATO. That's a major change for Sweden but a necessary one and a direct result of Russia's illegal, unprovoked and indefensible war of aggression. We want peace, but we want a just peace, a peace that does not embden an imperialistic Russia, not a peace that will lead to a new conflict, but a peace that can actually hd. A united world has to be stronger than one single aggression. We are at a crossroads where it's weighing either the rule of law or the rule of vience," she said.
