State Department confirms Rubio's visit to Saudi Arabia for talks with Ukrainian delegation

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Saudi Arabia from March 10 to 12 for discussions with senior members of the Ukrainian delegation.

This was reported by the press secretary of the US State Department, Tammy Bruce, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from March 10 to 12 for talks with Ukrainian partners to support the President’s initiative to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict,” she noted.

Bruce added that during his visit to Jeddah, Rubio will also meet with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud to discuss “opportunities to strengthen shared interests in the region and advance U.S.-Saudi relations.”

Rubio will be in Charlevoix, Canada, from March 12 to 14, where he will meet with his G7 counterparts, the spokesman said.

“Secretary Rubio's participation will advance U.S. policy on peace and security, strategic partnerships, and global stability. Discussions will focus on conflicts in the Middle East and the Middle East, cooperation in Africa and the Indo-Pacific, and stability in the Western Hemisphere,” Bruce concluded.

As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed confidence earlier that the meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations in Saudi Arabia would be successful.

The Ukrainian delegation that will meet with American officials in Saudi Arabia will include the head of the Prime Minister's Office Andriy Yermak, his deputy Pavlo Palisa, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
