Sibikha discussed the path to peace in Ukraine with the head of the German Chancellery

Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha met with the head of the Federal Chancellor's Office, Federal Minister for Special Assignments Wifgang Schmidt, who is visiting Ukraine to discuss paths to a just and sustainable peace.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Ukrinform.

“The parties discussed paths to a fair and stable peace in Ukraine,” the ministry’s press service reported.

Sibikha informed his interlocutor about the results of the recent talks in Jeddah, which took place earlier this week. He emphasized that Ukraine, like no one else, is interested in ending the unjustified destructive war.

The Foreign Ministry also expressed its sincere gratitude to Wifgang Schmidt for his personal contribution to ensuring multi-billion-dollar German aid to Ukraine in the military, financial, energy and humanitarian fields over the past three years.

In turn, the head of the Chancellery assured Sybiha that Germany would continue to firmly support Ukraine. He also informed Sybiha about the latest decisions taken in Germany aimed at creating conditions for increasing funding for Ukraine's military needs in the near future.

As reported earlier, the head of the Christian Democratic Union and candidate for the post of German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, said that in the coming days, assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 3 billion euros will be agreed upon.
