Shts to attend Coalition of the Willing meeting in Paris

German Chancellor Olaf Schtz plans to attend a meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing” in Paris on Thursday, where concrete decisions could be made.

As reported by an Ukrinform correspondent, this was stated at a briefing by government press secretary Steffen Hebestreit, who specified that the chancellor will take part in the summit of supporters of Ukraine on March 27.

Hebestreit noted that the German delegation will continue to actively cooperate with European partners and allies on issues of support for Ukraine, possible peace talks and broader security issues in Europe. He stressed that the meeting in Paris is expected to focus on specific agreements that the participants will seek to finalize.

The discussions will also touch on recent talks in Saudi Arabia involving the United States, Russia and Ukraine.

The spokesman said the meeting was part of an ongoing series of discussions on Ukraine's future, with previous meetings in Paris, London and Brussels. He suggested the lineup would likely remain the same, but cited uncertainty over the Turkish foreign minister's presence due to domestic political developments. Canada's leadership is also expected to be represented, with Berlin hoping for Justin Trudeau, who is no longer the country's prime minister, to attend.

Hebestreit confirmed that Schtz will remain chancellor until Germany forms a new government.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously announced his visit to France later this week.
