Shmyhal: Strategic task to see Ukraine in EU in two to three years
That’s according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who spoke in an interview with Interfax, Ukrinform reports.
The head of government noted that, according to various estimates, 5 to 7 million Ukrainians are forced to stay abroad, but up to 90% of those who left seek to return home. He assumed that Ukrainians would be returning more actively in the spring, adding that three components are needed to ensure that they do so: jobs, accommodation, and security.
Shmyhal emphasized that Ukrainians should see the prospect of rebuilding and develing the country after the war.

"Therefore, the strategic task is Ukraine in the EU not in a decade, but in two to three years. And the second part of this point is the major Reconstruction Plan, at which we are working with our allies. Our partners are really interested and will support us to this end. These four components, I’m sure, will give pele the understanding that there is a good and safe future for them and their children in Ukraine. Then pele will return," he said.
Shmyhal also recalled that the eRobota (e-Job) online program was launched to promote business develment. These are grants for small businesses, planting gardens and greenhouses, and processing enterprises.
"Through fiscal, regulatory, and credit incentives, we are currently helping businesses primarily so that they create jobs. Reducing unemployment is one of the main tasks currently facing the Ministry of Economy," he said.
The head of government also said that under the eOselia (e-Home) program, almost 300 mortgages have already been issued. Shmyhal drew attention to the fact that next year substantial funding is planned for this program, which is set to devel.
In addition, Shmyhal emphasized that in order to boost security in Ukraine, the entire powerful team led by the President is working on increasing the supply of air defense equipment.
As reported, on July 17, 2022, the Eurean Commission published its inion regarding the applications of Ukraine, Mdova, and Georgia for EU membership. All three countries were recognized as those with "Eurean prospects". At the same time, Ukraine and Mdova received the status of candidate countries for joining the EU. In order to receive the same status, Georgia is yet to fulfill certain criteria defined by the Eurean Commission, in particular, in the area of the rule of law.
