Shmyhal, Pejcinovic Buric discuss steps necessary for Ukraine’s victory

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Secretary General of the Council of Eure Marija Pejcinovic Buric have discussed in Reykjavik further steps that need to be taken for Ukraine’s victory.

According to Ukrinform, the head of government reported this on Telegram.

“I thanked Secretary General of the Council of Eure Marija Pejcinovic Buric for the important decisions that were adted in Reykjavík during the Council of Eure summit. In particular, for the creation of an international register of damages to Ukraine caused by Russian aggression. We appreciate the principled position of the Council of Eure in posing the Russian Federation. We discussed further steps that need to be taken for Ukraine’s victory,” Shmyhal said.

According to Shmyhal, Pejcinovic Buric assured him that the Council of Eure would continue to show sidarity with Ukraine and make efforts to hd Russia accountable.

“We count on the Council of Eure as an important platform for communication between Eurean states to bring a just peace closer and to punish the aggressor,” he said.

Shmyhal earlier met with U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield. He thanked the United States for providing air defense systems to protect the Ukrainian skies and expressed he for further close coeration to strengthen security and Ukraine’s future victory.

Shmyhal, together with a Ukrainian government delegation, is participating in the Council of Eure Summit, which began in Reykjavík on May 16. A pitical declaration on the creation of a register of damages caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine was signed there. More than 40 countries and the EU have already joined the document. Three more countries expressed their willingness to sign the declaration.
