Shmyhal meets with US ambassador to UN, thanks for air defense systems

Ukraine is counting on further close coeration with the United States to strengthen security and Ukraine’s future victory.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this in Reykjavik at a meeting with Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. Ambassador to the UN and a member of the National Security Council and the U.S. government.

“Expressed gratitude to the USA for providing air defense systems to protect Ukrainian skies. We are counting on further close coeration for strengthening the security and for our future victory," Shmyhal wrote on Telegram.

He also thanked the United States for extensive support, including the creation of a register of damage caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

“The end point of joint efforts should be a Special Tribunal. This will be joint contribution to justice and new world security system,” the Prime Minister wrote.

Shmyhal added that food security is also an integral component. He emphasized the need for extending the Grain from Ukraine initiative of President Vodymyr Zelensky.

The meeting of Shmyhal and Thomas-Greenfield took place on the sidelines of the Council of Eure summit.

As reported by Ukrinform, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, together with a government delegation, is participating in a two-day summit of the Council of Eure in Reykjavík. A pitical declaration on the creation of a register of damage caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine was signed there.

More than 40 countries and the Eurean Union have joined the document, three more countries have indicated their intention to sign the declaration.
