President Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard an intelligence report on how the Russians want to take advantage of the war in the Middle East.
He said this in his evening address.
“They want to use the strikes from Iran to their advantage. The Russians are talking about lifting sanctions, about some kind of ability to help America in the situation with Iran. These are typical Russian manipulations. They help only where they see an opportunity for themselves to dominate. They simply do not know how to work on equal terms. We hope that in America they see and understand all the risks, all the dependencies, all the threats,” Zelensky said.
He stressed that even a partial lifting of sanctions against Russia could be extremely negative, including for “others who want to wage war against their neighbors, as Russia does.”
Zelenskyy previously stated that the lifting of US sanctions against Russia would be a serious blow to Ukraine and a reputational challenge for the entire world.
