Russia playing a game of delay in Ukraine – Finnish President

Finland's President Alexander Stubb said Russia was deliberately trying to stall for time in Ukraine and was not seeking a ceasefire or peace. His comments came after a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in the UK to support Ukraine.

This was reported by Ukrinform, citing Yle and the STT news agency.

The President of Finland noted that the goal of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin remains the destruction of the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Stubb said the Coalition of the Willing discussions, which he participated in remotely, were a “progressive step.” He confirmed that a coalition of like-minded countries, comprising approximately 30 states, is currently being formed.

As previously reported, 29 heads of state took part in the online meeting of world leaders in support of Ukraine, which took place on March 15.

During the meeting, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that military officials would meet in the UK next week to develop concrete plans to support a future peace deal. He also said the plans would include cooperation with the United States.
