President Zelensky: We are invving as many countries as possible to strengthen defense
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky in his video address, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Today is the first day of meetings and negotiations in Japan on the eve of the G7 Summit. We are coordinating positions with partners, preparing new common steps. Defense: weapons, air defense, fighter jets. We are invving as many countries and leaders as possible for the sake of Ukraine. The Peace Formula. The long-term support programs for Ukraine. Finance and economy,” Zelensky said.
Today, the President of Ukraine has met with Prime Minister of Italy Georgia Meloni. The parties discussed progress in the implementation of agreements reached during President Zelensky’s visit to Rome. Zelensky briefed Meloni on the agreements reached during the Summit of the League of Arab States, and how Italy could strengthen Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against Russian air terror.
President Zelensky also held talks with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and defense. Zelensky thanked the United Kingdom for its leadership in terms of the air coalition for Ukraine.
Additionally, the President of Ukraine held a meeting with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, and briefed him on progress in the implementation of the Peace Formula.
“We have already gone through many stages of presenting the formula to leaders and countries from all over the world. The day before, the formula was successfully presented to the participants of the Arab League summit. And we will do everything to invve the world in our peace initiative as much as possible. I believe that India will participate in the restoration of the international order based on the rules that are needed by all free nations,” Zelensky stressed.
The Head of State spoke to President of the Eurean Council Charles Michele and President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron. In addition, President Zelensky held a meeting with Chancellor of Germany af Schz, where the two leaders discussed how to achieve a just peace for Ukraine and strengthen joint efforts within the framework of the G7.
A reminder that the 49th G7 Summit is taking place in Japan’s Hiroshima and will last until May 21, 2023. Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky arrived in Hiroshima to attend the G7 Summit in person.
