People's Deputy Dubinsky was informed of another suspicion of treason

The Prosecutor General's Office has reported a suspected treason case against a 9th convocation People's Deputy of Ukraine under martial law. The department did not name the suspect, but Oleksandr Dubinsky personally confirmed that he was the one in question.

This was reported on Telegram by the Prosecutor General's Office and the State Bureau of Investigation.

“He is suspected of deliberate actions to the detriment of Ukraine's information security, in particular, assisting the aggressor state in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine,” the UCP noted.

According to the investigation, the suspect systematically distributed publications, audio and video messages with signs of manipulative influence on his personal Telegram channel, Facebook and Instagram, which “corresponded to modern Russian propaganda narratives and were subsequently used by the enemy in subversive activities against Ukraine in the information sphere.”

“The People's Deputy, who is accused of treason and is currently in custody, established a mechanism and continued active anti-state information propaganda even from a pre-trial detention center. According to the conclusions of the linguistic and psychological examination, his publications on Telegram, Facebook, and YouTube harm the state and information security of Ukraine,” the SBI noted.

In particular, it is noted that during meetings with lawyers, the suspect used their laptops to prepare texts, record videos, and save materials, as well as leave instructions for their subsequent publication.

“After leaving the pre-trial detention center, the lawyers connected to the network and transferred the prepared content to the person who administered the information resources of the defendant. According to operational data, this is the civil wife of the deputy, who is currently in Barcelona,” the report says.

The investigation established that in 2021-2022, the mother and wife of the people's deputy purchased two apartments in Barcelona with a total value of almost 400 thousand euros. Most of the funds came from two Russian citizens – presumably a mother and daughter. The younger of them graduated from a prestigious Moscow university that trains personnel for the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, and also worked for some time in Putin's administration. The investigation will investigate these circumstances separately.

During the investigation, prosecutors, together with law enforcement officers, examined more than 50 video messages and publications of the suspect on his Telegram channel, social networks and other resources, including Russian ones. Forensic examinations confirmed that the examined materials contain signs of the spread of “attitudes characteristic of Russian propaganda.”

The actions of the people's deputy are qualified as high treason committed under martial law by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

In his Telegram, Oleksandr Dubinsky confirmed that the suspicion concerns him, noting that searches are currently underway in the pre-trial detention center and his defenders.

“As the fabricated criminal case against me is falling apart in court, Zelensky's thieving regime has decided to hand me another suspicion…Zelensky is desperately trying to shift the blame for his looting onto political opponents. But he is trying in vain: the whole country sees who exactly stole and how much in the war,” Dubinsky wrote.

He added that the real threat to national security is not him, who “has been in pre-trial detention for almost three years, but Zelensky and his OZU.an organized crime group that is robbing a country that is bleeding.”
