Palisa: 10-12 countries ready to join the “coalition of the willing”

In the near future, the first meeting of heads of foreign armies, including representatives of France and Great Britain, will take place in Ukraine to discuss the potential deployment of a military contingent on Ukrainian territory.

According to Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Pavlo Palisa, 10-12 countries are ready to join the “coalition of the willing” in one form or another, Ukrinform reports.

“During the president's visit to Paris, an agreement was reached to hold this meeting in Ukraine. It will focus on practical military planning, especially on the presence of a foreign military contingent. We will discuss our common vision of further actions. Representatives of France and Great Britain will definitely take part in it, and perhaps other countries will join us. At the moment, about 10-12 countries are ready to participate – it's only a question of format. Therefore, discussions are underway. We have our fundamental vision, and our partners have theirs, based on their capabilities,” Palisa told reporters.

He added that once all the details were ironed out, the discussions could become more concrete. A second, more technical meeting was expected to take place soon.

On March 27, a meeting of the “coalition of the willing” took place in Paris. The main topics were the continuation of military aid to Ukraine and the structure of future guarantees for the country's security after the end of the war.
