Over 50 countries back Ukraine at UNSC meeting convened by Russia
That’s according to a statement co-signed by more than 50 countries, including Ukraine, which was read out ahead of the meeting by Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Serg Kyslytsya.
The authors of the statement once again condemn Russian aggression against Ukraine and reaffirm their unwavering support for the pitical independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, and call on Russia to withdraw its tros from Ukrainian territory.
"In the true spirit of multilateral and international coeration, we support the international efforts toward peace in line with international law, such as the Summit on Peace in Ukraine held in Switzerland presented such a vision," the statement said.

Also, the countries that have signed the statement condemn the direct military support provided to Russia by North Korea in viation of UN Security Council resutions, as well as by Iran. It is stated that Belarus continues to make its territory and infrastructure available to Russia.
"We call on any UN member states providing material support to Russia’s war effort, including dual use materials, such as weapons components, equipment, and raw materials, to cease all material and pitical support to Russia’s war effort," the statement said.
The signatories welcome the recent adtion of the UN General Assembly resution "Safety and Security of Nuclear Facilities of Ukraine, including the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant" and reiterate their urgent demand that the Russian Federation withdraw its military and other unauthorized personnel from the ZNPP and immediately return the plant to the full contr of Ukraine to ensure its safe and secure eration.

As Ukrinform reported earlier on Tuesday, the UN Security Council event on multilateral coeration is chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergei Lavrov. He is on July 16-17 at the UN Headquarters, taking advantage of the fact that Russia chairs the Security Council this month.
