NATO's Rutte confirms death of four US soldiers in Lithuania

Reuters reports this, citing information from Ukrinform.

“While I was speaking, news came in that four American soldiers had been killed in an incident in Lithuania,” Rutte told reporters in Warsaw.

He added that he did not know any further details about the tragedy.

Pabrade is located less than 10 kilometers from the Belarusian border.

Earlier, the Lithuanian Armed Forces reported that four American servicemen went missing after exercises at the Pabrade training ground on Tuesday.

According to the military, a signal about missing rifle installations and one tracked vehicle at the General Silvestras Žukauskas training ground was received on Tuesday at 16:45.

Soldiers from the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, were conducting a planned tactical exercise.
