Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain is on first visit to Ukraine
The Head of State noted that it is the first visit of the Foreign Minister of Bahrain to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries in July 1992, the President’s Office informs.
"This is an important signal of coeration and support between our countries," the President said.
He thanked the Kingdom of Bahrain for its unwavering support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine amid countering full-scale Russian aggression, which was repeatedly demonstrated in the course of voting for the relevant resutions of the UN General Assembly.
The Head of State noted that humanitarian aid from Bahrain is also very important for the Ukrainians.
"Because our struggle is not only on the frontline – our pele, our society are also on the battlefield. Their work helps our army to de-occupy our territory," Zelensky stressed.
The President also added that Ukraine will definitely win as it is fighting against aggression and defending its homes and families.
The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine strives for peace, and that is why he offered the international community the Ukrainian Peace Formula. "And we will be grateful to all the states that really want to help Ukraine achieve peace," the President noted.
Zelensky invited Bahrain to take part in the relevant diplomatic process, in particular, to join the implementation of certain points of the formula and participate in the upcoming Peace Summit.
The President drew special attention to the problem of the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia and the search for ways to return them to their homeland and their families.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, as well as on joining promising projects of coeration in the humanitarian and economic spheres.
Zelensky also raised the issue of demining large areas of Ukrainian territory contaminated by mines as a result of hostilities and the practical need for the necessary equipment.
