
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga said that the ministry has already agreed with UNESCO experts. They will arrive in Lviv to assess the damage caused by the Russian drone strike on the afternoon of March 24.
Andriy Sybiga reported this on the air of the telethon “United News”.
“Russia did not just strike at buildings in the center of Lviv. This is an attack on UNESCO's world heritage. An attack directly on UNESCO as an organization. An attack on everyone in the world who cares about cultural heritage. We demand strong reactions,” said Andriy Sybiga.
On March 24, Russia attacked Lviv in the middle of the day. The Bernardine Monastery ensemble on Soborna Square was damaged, and a house in Sykhiv was hit twice by UAVs. 19 people were injured.
The historic center of Lviv is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In the center of Lviv, 17 apartments need to be evacuated. There is damage to the Lontsky Museum and the Organ Hall.
