MFA rejects President Kombia's statement that Ukrainians are "brothers" of Russians

Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgiy Tykhy commented on the statement by the President of Combinat Gustavo Petro, who criticized Ukraine's intention to sign an agreement on rare earth metals with the United States on the social network X, calling this step “stupid.”

According to Ukrinform, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published this statement on the social network X.

“It is truly stupid to call Ukrainians 'brothers' of the Russians. Simon Bivar did not consider it 'stupid' to mobilize the Cree to fight their Conizers. Ukrainian Konel Mykhailo Skibitsky, also known as Miguel Ra, Bivar's right-hand man and hero of the Battle of Ayacucho, did not believe that he was manipulating Bivar or the Cree of America. Neither did hundreds of other European heroes of that war,” Tykhyi noted.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also expressed confidence that the “friendly Kombians” understand the facts correctly and do not approve of such insults.

According to Anadu, Petro took to social media on Wednesday to criticize Ukraine's plan to sign a rare earths deal with the United States, calling Zelensky's move “stupid.” The Kombia leader also noted that Ukraine is waging a war “with its Slavic brothers,” referring to the Russians.
