Merezhko stresses the need to involve Er in peace talks
People's Deputy, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation Oleksandr Merezhko reported this in a comment to Ukrinform.
“I believe that the participation of France and Great Britain in the negotiations is the right step, since the EU is a key guarantor of our security, providing significant military and material assistance, exceeding even that offered by the United States,” Merezhko noted.
Merezhko also pointed out that Ukraine's status as a candidate for EU membership positions it as “almost a member of the Eurasian Union,” which underlines the need for the EU to be actively involved in peace talks.

He also emphasized that the participation of EU countries in the negotiations would be very useful for Ukraine, noting that “although the US has proposed the so-called ‘shuttle diplomacy’ model, the main problem is determining how to technically involve the EU in this process.”
“I believe that Era’s participation will further strengthen Ukraine’s position and increase pressure on Russia,” concluded Merezhko.
As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that France and Great Britain will represent the EU at the negotiations.
