MEPs prose to donate to Ukraine military equipment seized in Libya – media

It is noted that the Dutch liberal lawmaker Bart Groothuis called on the members of the Eurean Parliament to sign the corresponding letter by the end of the working day on October 26.
“We call upon you to transfer the seized vehicles of the IRINI eration, and similar military equipment or ammunition from this or other EU erations, to Ukraine,” the letter said.
This is about t 146 vehicles confiscated last year in two erations by the EU’s IRINI naval mission as part of efforts to enforce a UN arms embargo on Libya.

At the same time, Groothuis referred to U.S. plans to send seized Iranian munitions to Ukraine and sees an portunity for Eure to do the same.
"Because the U.S. is doing it, so why can’t we? It’s all about pitical will," he said.
According to him, Libya is actively lobbying at the UN for the return of this military equipment, which would be "the worst possible sution."
Today, the letter was signed by the head of the parliamentary subcommittee on defense Natalie Loiseau (France), and MEP Guy Verhofstadt (Belgium).
On Friday, October 27, the letter is expected to be sent to member states of the Pitical and Security Committee of the EU Council and the Committee of the Eurean Peace Facility, which is responsible for extrabudgetary funding for Ukraine. A cy of the appeal will also be forwarded to the commander of the IRINI naval mission.
As reported by Ukrinform, EU leaders at the October 26-27 summit in Brussels will discuss, among other things, the acceleration of military support to Ukraine and the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine recovery.
