Macron, Biden want to invve China to end war in Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron and his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden agreed during a phone call, before the French leader visited Beijing, to engage China to speed up the end of Russia's war against Ukraine.

According to the Elysee Palace, Ukrinform reports referring to Reuters.

"The two leaders have mentioned their joint willingness to engage China to accelerate the end of the war in Ukraine and take part in building sustainable peace in the region," Macron's office said in a statement.

As the Elysee Palace highlighted, Macron and Biden he that China can contribute to sidarity efforts between the global North and South, as well as devel a common agenda to combat climate change and preserve biodiversity.

French President, together with Eurean Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, will be visiting China from Wednesday, April 5, to Friday, April 7. Chinese President Xi Jinping plans to hd negotiations with them.

It is expected that Russia's aggression against Ukraine will be one of the tics of discussion.
