Le Pen sentenced to prison, banned from running in elections until 2030
She was found guilty of fraud with public funds in the case of assistants to deputies of the National Front party (now the National Organization), as reported by Ukrinform, citing Le Monde.
According to the court's decision, the two-year prison sentence could be replaced by wearing an electronic bracelet. In addition, Le Pen must pay a fine of 100,000 euros.
According to the prosecution, Le Pen's disqualification from political activity will take effect immediately upon conviction, even if an appeal is filed.
Although the far-right ideological leader will retain her seat in parliament, the National Assembly, the consequences of this decision will be tangible – she will not be able to participate in elections for five years, including the presidential elections of 2027.

The National Front (now the National Union) was fined €2 million, of which €1 million was a fine and €1 million was confiscated during the investigation.
As reported by Ukrinform, on Monday, September 30, the leader of the French far-right forces, Marine Le Pen, will appear before the Paris Criminal Court.
