Italy agrees to send troops to Ukraine only under UN auspices – Foreign Minister
This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Antonio Tajani, as reported by Ukrinform with reference to ANSA.
“We will not send troops to missions that do not comply with the United Nations mandate; this is the only requirement on our part for sending troops” to Ukraine, Tajani, who is also deputy prime minister, said after meeting Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini.

According to Tajani, the discussion of the possibility of applying Article 5 of the NATO Treaty to ensure the security and defense of Ukraine remains relevant.
He stressed that there is agreement within the Italian government on the position that Prime Minister Meloni will take at the summit of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris on Thursday.
As reported by Ukrinform, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the summit of the Coalition of Member States on Ukraine will be held in Paris on March 27 with the participation of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
