“It was Trump's personal request”: Zelensky awaits US reaction to Russian strikes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is awaiting a response from the United States after Russia's latest attacks on energy infrastructure, which he said came just days after Washington asked for a temporary halt to its attacks.

Zelensky said this during his evening address.

Zelensky stressed that the proposal for a pause in strikes was a US initiative and came personally from US President Donald Trump. However, Russia responded with “a record of ballistics.” He noted that less than four days had passed since the week that had been agreed upon.

“If their word is not kept now, then what can we expect next?” the President of Ukraine noted.

He added that Russia was lying even before the full-scale invasion, and now continues to violate agreements even in the details of cooperation with the United States.

Zelensky emphasized that Moscow is trying to take advantage of the cold winter because it cannot subjugate Ukraine by force, and called on the international community to give an appropriate response to such actions by Russia.

“They are incorrigible in Moscow. And they want to take advantage of the cold, because they cannot conquer us, Ukraine, with their assaults. Russia's bet on war must receive a response from the world,” he concluded.
